Collaborative Leadership in Electrochemistry and Advanced materials Networks for Energy Transformation
CLEANET aims to elevate Thai researchers to global leadership in electrochemistry and advanced materials, supporting sustainable renewable energy technologies. The project is funded by PMU-B under project titled "Elevating Thai Researchers to Global Leadership in Electrochemistry and Advanced Materials Network for the Promotion and Development of Clean and Sustainable Renewable Energy Technologies in Thailand" Major achievements in the past six months include establishing the ECS Thailand Section, presenting research at key international conferences (245th ECS Meeting, PRiME 2024 and IUMRS-ICEM 2024), and hosting an ECS-led summer school with over 110 participants from academia and industry. The project has successfully fostered international collaborations, developed a robust training platform, and secured over 2.2 million THB in external research funding. Notably, four researchers have been appointed as editors for leading international journals, and three researchers have been promoted to have key roles in international networks in electrochemistry and advanced materials, specifically in clean and sustainable renewable energy technology. This initiative has accelerated the impact of electrochemical research in Thailand, preparing a skilled workforce and establishing a platform for innovation in sustainable energy technologies.
Project Background
To achieve carbon neutrality, innovative energy storage and sustainable production are crucial. The limitations of lithium-ion batteries drive the exploration of alternatives like zinc-ion batteries and green hydrogen. This project positions Thai researchers at the forefront through collaboration with global societies like ECS and IUMRS. The growing reliance on renewable energy highlights the need for reliable, cost-effective storage technologies. By building global networks, this project aims to strengthen Thailand’s role in clean energy, advancing local expertise in electrochemistry and materials to support economic growth and sustainability.
Our Objectives
To elevate Thai researchers as leaders in global networks focused on electrochemistry and advanced materials for clean and sustainable renewable energy technologies
To develop a platform that advances Thai researchers into leadership roles within international networks in electrochemistry and advanced materials, supporting clean and sustainable renewable energy technologies
To conduct international research in electrochemistry and advanced materials that contribute to clean and sustainable renewable energy technologies
